The use of the correct type of distribution boards under amendment 1 of the changes to BS 7671 and the forthcoming publication of amendment 2 for high rise residential buildings and, the use or not of AFDD within the distribution board is urgently needed, confusion either causes mistakes or allows unscrupulous contractors to swerve the correctly required product – within the terms of the Hackitt report the clarion call was to push forward with change for the better and not wait for the legislation to catch up!
