In these unprecedented times issues within business premises and the shops and stores we are being allowed back into after the Covid-19 lockdown, there must be some consideration within their Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) regarding the escape routes that may have now been modified and barricaded to build a one-way system to funnel their customers around their stores and sites.
They may in the process have compromised the escape routes in the building in the event that they have a fire and need to evacuate their buildings
If you are the RP for a commercial site where an FRA has been provided you’d be well advised to discuss the changes you have made to deal with Covid-19 with your assessor to ensure you have not replaced one potential drama with another
